Logitech has just released the first webcam in the Masters “MX” series, which is the Logitech MX Brio 4K. This webcam was presented by Logitech this week. When compared to other webcams of its size, the MX Brio promises to give superior image quality thanks to its bigger sensor and features based on artificial intelligence. For the past few days, I have been using the new webcam that Logitech has released, so continue reading as I share my initial opinions on purchasing it.
Logitech MX Brio tech specs
Before I begin describing my personal experience with the new Logitech MX Brio, here are its technical specifications. It is equipped with a larger 8.5MP Sony STARVIS sensor that can record videos at 30 frames per second in 4K resolution. Additionally, users have the option to record recordings at 60 frames per second in 1080p.
The lens features an aperture of f/2.0, automatic focus, a field of view of 90o, and a digital magnification of 4x. The USB-C cable included with the MX Brio enables it to function with virtually all modern devices, including iPads and Macs. Additionally, the integrated fastener allows for effortless placement in any location, including atop your monitor.
Setting it up is easy
Configuring the Logitech MX Brio is a breeze for Apple users. In fact, absolutely no setup is necessary. It is as simple as plugging it in to begin utilizing your preferred applications. iPadOS 17, which is interoperable with external USB-C webcams, is also affected. Users have the ability to effortlessly modify the image by utilizing the LogiTune application.
The webcam’s default parameters were adequate for my purposes; however, brightness, contrast, saturation, and temperature can be modified at will. Additionally, options exist to enable or disable HDR, automatic focus, and automatic exposure.
RightSight, an intriguing feature that functions similarly to Apple’s Center Stage, is noteworthy. It automatically follows the user’s movements and zooms in on their visage when enabled. The feature functions effectively with minimal quality loss due to the 4K resolution; however, the animations are not as fluid as when utilizing Apple’s Center Stage.
Notably, the configurations are implemented directly on the webcam, eliminating the need to individually modify the settings for each application.
Great image and sound quality
Image quality is unquestionably the most essential feature of a webcam, and in the majority of situations, the Logitech MX Brio produces an excellent image. In contrast to the accentuated sharpening characteristic of Apple’s cameras, the MX Brio captures more detailed images than the 1080p webcam integrated into my 2023 MacBook Pro. The camera executes admirably even in low-light environments.

Additionally, the two built-in beam-forming microphones with noise cancellation impressed me. Although not outstanding, the audio is sufficiently strong and clear, and the noise cancellation is effective. In addition to being more than adequate for videoconferencing, the MX Brio is also capable of recording high-resolution content for the web.
More tidbits on the Logitech MX Brio
There are a few additional noteworthy characteristics of the Logitech MX Brio. I appreciate that it incorporates a privacy shield. To open and close the lens, simply rotate the crown around it. And even if the webcam remains open, an LED indicator illuminates when an application is utilizing it.
The webcam’s enclosure is constructed from aluminum, lending it an upscale appearance that complements your Apple devices. In addition, it is offered in graphite, silver, and black, which is comparable to Apple’s Space Gray. Additionally, the MX Brio is a carbon-neutral product, per Logitech.
